The leaders of the Pakistan People’s Party have said that the PPP founder and former Prime Minister, Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, was the one who laid the foundation stone to seek a peaceful solution to the Kashmir issue between India and Pakistan as the country will soon resolve this problem under the leadership of People’s Party Chairman, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari.

The People’s Party leaders made these remarks as they were addressing the protest demonstration organised by the PPP Karachi Division here at the Regal Chowk in Saddar on Saturday to mark Kashmir Day.

The PPP leaders said that Kashmir policy of the present federal government of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf was a complete sellout as Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi didn’t face any resistance while unleashing sheer terror and oppression against the oppressed Kashmiri people.

They said that a large number of Kashmiri brethren would also be a part of the upcoming long march of the People’s Party starting from Karachi on February 27 to make accountable the present government for its anti-Kashmir policy.

Speaking on the occasion, Sindh Information and Labour Minister, Saeed Ghani, said that the PPP had always played its due role to give salience to the Kashmir issue at the international level.

He said it was high time that practical steps should be taken to resolve the Kashmir problem. He lamented the situation that the present federal government had been keeping silence on the issue of terror and violence committed against the Muslim brethren in the Occupied Kashmir.

He said that the present ineligible government had caused much harm to the Kashmir cause. He said the People’s Party fully stood with the Kashmiri people while Prime Minister Imran Khan had left alone the Kashmiri brethren in the Occupied Kashmir.

Saeed Ghani, who is also PPP Karachi Division President, said the Indian government in 2019 had taken undemocratic and unlawful steps to further strengthen its illegal occupation of Kashmir but PM Imran Khan in reaction had done nothing and showed his complete helplessness.

He said the Kashmir problem was the root cause of the lingering dispute between India and Pakistan as that was why the PPP founder Zulfikar Ali Bhutto had expressed his resolve to continue fighting for this cause for thousands of years.

He said the rest of the world lent support to India on the Kashmir issue owing to the weak foreign policy of the present government. He said the present government had failed to become a true representative of the oppressed Kashmiri people for the international community.

The Sindh Information Minister said that even the brethren Islamic countries had shown hesitation and didn’t lend support to Pakistan for the resolution of the Kashmir problem. He said the PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari had used every forum available to him to raise his voice on the Kashmir problem.

He said that Kashmiri brethren were equally upset due to the present government as was the case of people associated with different sectors in the country that had been ruined by the rulers due to their sheer inefficiency.

He told participants of the rally that the present rulers were not worried at all about the situation that industries in Karachi had not been getting natural gas. He said that Kashmiri in a large number would be part of the upcoming PPP’s long march to be taken under the leadership of Bilawal in order to go to Islamabad to hold the present rulers accountable for their weak Kashmir policy.
