The family members and relatives of a youth, who died under mysterious circumstances, staged a protest demonstration and blocked Srinagar-Jammu Highway in Samba district of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir. The deceased was identified as Amit Chaudhry, a resident of Raipur Camp in Samba.
The protesters blocked the highway with the body of the youth. The family members claimed that the deceased was working as a labourer on a Weigh-Bridge in Samba and demanded a transparent investigation into his death. The demonstrators said that the body was thrown out of the premises from the place of his work.
On the other hand, one person identified as Meraaj-ud-Din Parray was killed, and two others Yaseen Parray and Waseem Ahmad Butt were injured in a collision between a vehicle and a motorcycle in Bijbehara area of south Kashmir’s Islamabad district.
Meanwhile, a 65-year-old man Nazir Ahmed Khanday has been reportedly missing from Rawalpora area of Srinagar since Monday (August 14) when he left his residence with the intention of purchasing some items from a nearby shop. However, he has not returned since then, sparking concerns about his well-being.—KMS
