Studying at Yanshan University in Qinhuangdao, Hebei Province, has been a transformative academic journey, offering opportunities to experience China’s world-class education system, advanced research environment and rich cultural heritage. From the moment I arrived, I was impressed by the city’s clean environment, modern infrastructure and welcoming atmosphere, where education, innovation and cultural diversity are deeply valued.
Yanshan University is one of China’s respected research institutions, particularly renowned for engineering and scientific innovation. Originating from the Heavy Machinery Department of Harbin Institute of Technology, the university has developed into a comprehensive research university with internationally recognized programs in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, automation, robotics, artificial intelligence and advanced manufacturing. The university’s modern campus offers an inspiring learning environment with well-equipped laboratories, extensive libraries, green spaces and advanced research facilities. The peaceful surroundings encourage academic excellence while providing students with a balanced and enjoyable campus life throughout the year.
One of the university’s greatest strengths is its commitment to research. National and provincial key laboratories provide students with access to advanced technologies and experienced researchers in fields such as intelligent manufacturing, robotics, automation and artificial intelligence. This research-driven environment has motivated me to strengthen my analytical skills and contribute to technological innovation.
Beyond academics, Yanshan University has provided a truly international experience. Studying alongside students from different countries has broadened my perspective, encouraged cultural exchange and created lasting friendships. These interactions have strengthened my appreciation for global cooperation and mutual understanding.
Living in China has also allowed me to experience its rich cultural heritage. Traditional fes-tivals such as the Spring Festival, Mid-Autumn Festival and Dragon Boat Festival have given me valuable insight into Chinese history and customs. Learning basic Chinese has further enhanced my ability to communicate with local people and better understand the country’s culture.
Studying at Yanshan University has provided far more than academic qualifications, offering valuable research opportunities, international exposure and a broader global perspective. The experience has strengthened my expertise in intelligent control systems and autonomous technologies while reinforcing my commitment to advancing scientific research and promoting academic and technological cooperation between Pakistan and China.
