Alumni from Xinjiang Medical University (XJMU) of Pakistan warmly welcomed a delegation from XJMU today at Islamabad airport. The delegation members included Prof. Sun Hongxin, Vice President of XJMU, Prof. Dr. YaseenMijit, Dean of IEC, and Mr. Roger, Vice Dean of IEC. Jointly organized by XJMU Alumni and the XJMU office, the event was moderated by Dr. AsifMaqsood Butt, Founder of the XJMU Pakistan Chapter and country head of the Public Health Chapter of the China Pakistan Medical Association. This visit aims to strengthen health and educational ties between the two nations.
Dr. Butt, along with Dr. RizwanFarooqi, Consultant Urologist and CPMA Urology Head of the Pakistan Chapter, and Dr. Ayaz, CEO of Consultant Abroad Services (CAS), and his team, greeted the delegation. The visit is seen as a significant step towards bolstering the longstanding friendship between Pakistan and China.
The event began with a welcome note by Dr. Salman Ahmed Khan, followed by an introduction to the XJMU chapter by Dr. Butt. Dr. ShahzadYaqoob then discussed the journey, achievements, and challenges faced by XJMU graduates from 2006 to 2024. Dr. SajidHameed presented a road map toward academic excellence.
