Dozens of internet users took to X, the famous social microblogging site, as service continued after being inaccessible for nearly nine months. Despite the alleged restoration, the government has not shared any update on the development.
To people’s surprise, X remains accessible amid major protest in Islamabad, where supporters of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf gathered , demanding release of jailed Imran Khan.
As of late Tuesday, staffers at Pakistan Observer successfully got access to X on their smartphones, and computers.

It all started after February 8 general elections, which saw independent candidates backed by PTI win a majority of seats.
In later months, officials of social media giant revealed they were working with Pakistani government to address its concerns. The platform had been blocked by the caretaker administration, as confirmed by local officials.
