FMH Medical and Dental College organized a pre-conference workshop titled “Challenges in medical education-curriculum and faculty development” in collaboration with College of Physicians and Surgeons of Pakistan on January 10th, 2023. Prof Khalid Masood Gondal, Vice Chancellor Fatima Jinnah Medical University, inaugurated this pre-conference workshop and congratulated NIU-FMH Medical& Dental College for organizing this event by taking a step towards educational improvement in the health sector for better patient care.
Prof Dr. Tayyab Abbas, Principal FMH College of Medicine and Dentistry, briefed about the college’s mission and vision in health sector and highlighted the efforts done in order to achieve excellence in both undergraduate and postgraduate studies by the institution. He further elaborated on the role of FMH in promoting medical education by developing multidisciplinary teams for teaching and learning. Prof Dr. Arif Amir Nawaz, Head of Gastroenterology Department FMH, gave brief introduction of Keynote Speaker Dr. Rowen K.Zetterman(Medical Education Expert-USA). Dr. Amina Ahmad emphasized on the need for continuous faculty development and endorsing recent advances in medical education in order to be on-a-par with international standards. Dr. HinaSohail (workshop coordinator) organized this activity which was well attended with over 45 participants.
