Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar presided over a high-level meeting to review progress on development projects of Southern Punjab here on Saturday in Multan.
The chief minister also sought a report on public demands during his visits to Vehari, Multan, Barthi and Fazila Kachh. Usman Buzdar directed that the secretaries of Southern Punjab should keep their doors open for the public and suggestions and recommendations of the public representatives should also be given due consideration.
He further directed that genuine demands of anyone should be fulfilled and people of Southern Punjab should not have to visit Lahore for the redressal of their grievances.
He asked the officers of Southern Punjab Secretariat to work hard and pay full attention to resolve of peoples’ problems. Usman Buzdar said that he will hold meeting to review progress on resolving the issues. He directed that police patrolling in remote areas of Dera Ghazi Khan should be restarted.
In order to solve people’s problem officers should make better liaison with them. He said that public service is our mission. No stone should be left unturned to meet the expectations of the people, Usman Buzdar asserted. The meeting was attended by Additional Chief Secretary, Commissioners of Multan and Dera Ghazi Khan, RPOs, Deputy Commissioners and concerned officials.
Meanwhile, the chief minister visited Aafi Bandh a remote area of Tehsil Koh-e-Suleman.
This is the first-ever visit of any chief minister to Aafi Bandh. Situated at 3000 feet above the sea level Aafi Bandh is the highest point of Koh-e-Suleman which is rich in mineral but lacks water and other basic necessities.
CM’s visit to Aafi Bandh was a matter of great pleasure for the people. The chief minister and his team were served goat milk tea. People informed him about the problems of the area. Usman Buzdar announced setting up of a school and picnic point in Aafi Band area and directed for establishment of a water tank for ensuring provision of potable water to people.
He said path lead from Basti Zain will be declared a Public Path. The Punjab government will review the possibility of starting sewerage and water supply schemes for the area.
Koh-e-Safaid is part of Punjab but is centuries behind in development. I got Chief Ministership for the redressal of the deprivations of areas like Aafi Bandh and I am the advocate of the people of the backward areas, CM added. He said that solving people’s problems is his responsibility.
PRISONER SHIFTS TO
CARDIOLOGY ON CM DIRECTIVES
Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar visited district jail Multan and inspected the treatment facilities being provided to prisoners in the jail hospital. The chief minister also enquired after the illness of the prisoners.
The chief minister directed to provide treatment facilities to a prisoner namely Muhammad Hanif who is a heart patient. On his direction, the patient was shifted to the cardiology where his treatment has been started. Commissioner Multan Javed Akhtar shifted the prisoner to cardiology under his supervision.
