In celebration of Women’s Day, the Pakistan Weightlifting Federation is organizing the Women’s Day Invitational Weightlifting Tournament 2024 at Railway Stadium, GarhiShahu, According toSohailJaved Butt Media Coordinator Pwlf The competition, set to commence on Sunday, March 3, 2024, at 1 PM, will witness the participation of over 35 female weightlifters from Lahore district. AqeelJaved Butt, a former international weightlifter, will serve as the organizing secretary for the event.
The tournament will feature three teams, and the participating weightlifters include prominent names such as Iman Fatima, Farkhanda Mustafa, Larib Kamal, MunibaImtiaz, ShahzadeNazar, MaskanPatras, FatimaSaher
Amina Sharif, Iraf Fatima, Ayesha Aslam, HiraNiaz from the National Weightlifting Club at Punjab Stadium; Zara Zubair, NeelamRiaz, SaimaShehzad, Sonia Azmat, SheetalAsif, Nida Fatima, Noor Fatima, MadeehaZubair, SaharShafiq, ArfaMushtaq, Safa Fatima, Zainab, Rida, Fiza, MaliakaDawood from the Brave Heart Weightlifting Academy; and AnamIqbal, KiranIqbal, Noor Tahir from Rashid Minhas Weightlifting Gym. Khadija Yusuf from the University Ground Chaburji Club will also be showcasing her skills.
Key technical officials for the tournament include Ishrat Begum, Maryam Aqeel Butt, SairaBano, NeelamRiaz, NailaMaqsood Butt, and chairman organizing Committee NuzhetJabeen, the General Secretary of the Pakistan Weightlifting Federation. Other officials include Amjad Amin Butt, the Vice President of the Pakistan Weightlifting Federation, Abdul Khaliq, QaiserIftikhar, Zahoor Ahmed, Kashif Ali, and Mohammad JavedAsghar, the General Secretary of the Punjab Weightlifting Association.
