A man killed his wife and daughter over a monetary dispute, the police said on Monday.
The police said that the incident occurred in Sadiqabad area of Rahim Yar Khan. The suspect, identified as Allah Ditta, was unemployed and couldn’t pay for his expenses.
“He was very distressed about his financial condition after which he got into an argument with his family and killed them,” a police officer said.
The bodies were shifted to a hospital for post-mortem and other medico-legal formalities. The police have arrested Ditta and have started investigation from him. In another incident in the city, a woman and her daughter were killed while asleep in Iqbalabad in what is reported to be an ‘honour killing’. According to the police, three unidentified men broken into the victims’ house and slit their throats with a dagger. They managed to escape from the crime scene. The police have formed a special team to arrest the culprits as soon as possible.
SUSPECTED ROBBER TURNS OUT TO BE COP
A policeman has been taken into custody after a first information report (FIR) was lodged against him for allegedly robbing a citizen of his cash at gunpoint.
According to the police, the FIR was registered at People’s Colony police station. Head constable Irshad along with an accomplice allegedly deprived a citizen of Rs90,000 cash at gunpoint. The complainant relayed that he was going back home after withdrawing cash from an ATM of a private bank when he was intercepted by the policeman, who took the money out of his pocket on the pretext of checking.
The police said the head constable and his accomplice have been arrested with an investigation into the matter launched.
