The city witnessed a resurgence of winter weather accompanied by rainfall over the weekend, leading to temperatures dipping below 14 degrees Celsius on Saturday. The Meteorological Office has warned that cold winds originating from Balochistan are expected to persist in Karachi for the next three days, further dropping temperatures in the port city. These cold gusts from Quetta could reach speeds of up to 40 kilometers per hour during this period. As anticipated by the MET office, various parts of Karachi experienced light to moderate rainfall on Friday.

Localities including Gadap, Surjani Town, Taiser Town, Saddar, Old Town, Lyari, Scheme 33, among others, received varying levels of precipitation. Furthermore, the MET office issued a caution regarding a potential cold snap in the city following the heavy rain. In response to the forecast of substantial rainfall, the Sindh government declared a half-day for offices in Karachi on Friday. Karachi Mayor Murtaza Wahab Siddiqui confirmed this decision on the social media platform X, citing it as a precautionary measure.
