MULTAN – A fire broke out on the second floor of the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) Multan on Monday, prompting an emergency rescue operation.
Rescue officials said the fire was caused by a short circuit. Seven people who were trapped inside the building were safely evacuated using a ladder.
Firefighters later brought the blaze under control, while cooling operations continued to prevent the fire from reigniting.
Rescue authorities said a total of seven emergency vehicles participated in the operation at the Multan board office.
The fire incident comes as the boards across Punjab are checking examination papers of class 10 annual exams to prepare the results.
Will Results be Delayed?
The board has not officially disclosed the extent of the damage, and it remains unclear whether the incident will affect the announcement of results.

The written exams for the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) Part-II were completed on April 16, 2026, while the practical examinations concluded on May 25, 2026.
As per the reports, the Lahore board would announce the class 10 results 2026 on 6 August followed by the 9th class results.
