In an attempt to drum up maximum support for the upcoming Senate elections, Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Usman Buzdar continued maneuvering to woo opposition lawmakers and has appeared successful so far as two more lawmakers – one from PPP and the other from PML-N called on the chief minister on Thursday.
It is to be noted that so far, eight opposition lawmakers have reposed confidence in the leadership of the chief minister.
According to details, Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) MPA Rais Nabeel Ahmed on Thursday called on Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar and expressed confidence in his leadership.
The PPP MPA from PP-265 met CM Usman Buzdar and apprised him of the problems of his constituency and issues being faced by public. On the occasion, Buzdar expressed his resolve to solve issues of every constituency of the province and said that development is the right of every city and town. The CM said that the past governments neglected underdeveloped areas. While criticizing opposition parties, he said that the masses cannot be fooled by empty slogans and anti-development elements will always fail.
Talking to newsmen after the meeting, PPP MPA Rais Nabeel Ahmed said the meeting remained fruitful and it was held in a pleasant environment.
On the other hand, another PML-N MPA Kashif Mahmood called on Chief Minister Sardar Usman Bazdar and expressed confidence in the leadership of Usman Bazdar.
The chief minister expressed gratitude to Kashif Mahmood for his good wishes and said that his doors are always opened for every lawmaker. “I have served the public in good faith and will continue to do so”, he added.
He said that for the first time development works are being carried out at the local level in consultation with the elected representatives. A separate development package has been prepared for each city.
