LAHORE – The reparations for the second marriage of Junaid Safdar, son of CM Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif, are in full swing as wedding is scheduled to take place in January next year.
Former National Assembly member Sheikh Rohail Asghar has revealed in a recent interview that Junaid Safdar’s marriage has been arranged with his granddaughter, Shanzeh.
He said Shanzeh is a close friend of Maryam Nawaz’s younger daughter, Mahnoor, and the two families became acquainted through frequent social interactions, which later led to the proposal.
Providing further details, Rohail Asghar said that Maryam Nawaz’s family contacted his son a few months ago to formally express their interest.
Following mutual visits between the families, the marriage proposal was finalised and the wedding dates were fixed.
He said the wedding ceremonies will be held on January 16, 17 and 18, adding that the celebrations will be held on a modest scale with invitations extended only to close relatives and family members.
It may be recalled that Junaid Safdar confirmed his divorce from his first wife in October 2023 through a post on his Instagram account.
