LAHORE – Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has announced wheat procurement price for year 2026 in order to provide maximum benefit to farmers.
In a post shared on X platform, the chief minister said Punjab has become the first province to formulate a public-private partnership police for the procurement.
Under the policy, three million metric tons of wheat will be purchased from local farmers at Rs 3,500 per maund in 2026.
Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz expressed her satisfaction with the new policy, stating, “Punjab is the first province to implement such a policy, which will not only support farmers but also stabilize the region’s wheat reserves.”

She further announced that 35 domestic and international companies have successfully prequalified for participation in this initiative.
Wheat Crop Season
In Pakistan, wheat is grown during the Rabi (winter) season, with planting generally happening between mid-October and December, and the harvest occurring from mid-March to May.
