RAWALPINDI – From chaos to internet disruption, Pakistanis in parts of the country including Lahore, Rawalpindi and Karachi are facing disrupted social media sites.

The users of leading platform across Pakistan are facing significant challenges with data services, coinciding with disruptions to other social sites amid hightened politcal tesnions in the country.

The situation has been exacerbated by road closures around Liaquat Bagh, leading to traffic congestion for residents of the twin city. Authorities have deployed companies of paramilitary and police, and Section 144 is currently in effect, prohibiting gatherings and weapon displays.

WhatsApp users reported difficulties sending media files via mobile data starting around 10:00am on Saturday. Internet moniting platforms also confirmed the disruption, while services on DSL and lcoal networks remain operational.

This disruption follows similar issues experienced the previous Saturday during another PTI rally. With a population of 242 million, Pakistan has been grappling with ongoing internet service challenges, adversely affecting businesses and digital platforms.

As of now, there has been no official comment from Sharif led government regarding the latest disruptions, and further updates are expected as the situation unfolds.
