WFP delegation visits PARC-AZRI, Umerkot

A delegation of World Food Program (WFP), led by Senior Program Policy Officer, Ms. Manuela Reinfeld visited PARC-Arid Zone Research Institute (AZRI), Umerkot Sindh. DG PARC-SARC, Dr. Attaullah Khan along with other high officials were present to welcome them.
While briefing about the on-going activities and future prospects of this PARC sub-station, Dr. Attaullah Khan told the WFP delegation, PARC station of AZRI Umerkot is working on the reclamation of desert areas of Pakistan. To eliminate drought and turning the barren deserts into grasslands, PARC with the international collaborations, replicating successful agriculture and livestock models
The delegation viewed the R&D activities keenly which includes Fish Farming Model, Kitchen Gardening Model, advanced Irrigation Models and Biogas plant. While appreciating and approving the efforts of researchers and scientists, WFP members expects to enhance bilateral cooperation with PARC.
