Westminster International School In Islamabad Faces Social Media Scrutiny Over Harassment Allegation

ISLAMABAD – Concern has spread on social media following allegations that a five-year-old student was allegedly sexually harassed in a washroom area at Westminster International School in Bahria Town Phase 7.

The allegations remain unverified, and the school administration has yet to issue an official public response addressing the claims in detail.

According to accounts circulating on social media, the child allegedly told her mother after returning home that she was experiencing discomfort and claimed that the incident had occurred at school.

The parents reportedly approached the school administration but later alleged that their concerns were not taken seriously and that they faced pressure to withdraw their claims.

The controversy intensified after parents were reportedly invited to a school meeting concerning the allegations.

One social media account claimed that the administration arranged CCTV footage from a particular block for viewing. According to the account, the child’s parents objected to the footage being shown publicly and requested to view it privately. The school reportedly arranged a separate viewing for them.

The same account said the administration briefed parents about its inquiry and maintained that the footage contained no objectionable material. However, the child’s mother reportedly expressed dissatisfaction with the briefing, accusing the administration of presenting an incomplete account of the matter.

Social media posts also claim that a parents’ committee of around 20 members was proposed to pursue an independent investigation, with the possibility of legal action being considered.

A separate video circulating online purportedly features the school’s principal discussing CCTV cameras and saying that cameras were not working when the alleged incident occurred.

Other social media users have claimed that the school initially said there was no camera in the relevant area but later produced footage, raising suspicions among some parents about whether the footage had been altered. These claims have not been independently verified.

Some parents were reportedly unwilling to send their children back to school until a transparent investigation is completed.

Given the seriousness of the allegations and the age of the child involved, parents and social media users are calling for an impartial investigation, with the child’s safety, privacy and dignity protected throughout the process.
