LAHORE – Monsoon rains and gusty winds with isolated heavy falls are likely in Lahore and parts of Punjab on Wednesday night, Thursday and Friday.
Per the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), strong monsoon currents from the Arabian Sea and Bay of Bengal will likely penetrate the upper parts of Pakistan tonight. A westerly wave will also likely approach the upper parts of the country on Thursday.
Under these conditions, rains and gusty winds are likely in Murree, Galyat, Rawalpindi, Jhelum, Chakwal, Attock, Mandi Bahauddin, Gujarat, Gujranwala, Lahore, Kasur, Okara, Sheikhupura, Hafizabad, Narowal, Sialkot, Faisalabad, Jhang, Toba Tek Singh and Sahiwal on Wednesday night. Heavy falls may also occur at a few places in Lahore, Sialkot, Narowal, Gujranwala, Mandi Bahauddin and Gujrat during the period.
On Thursday and Friday, more rains and gusty winds are likely in Lahore, Kasur, Okara, Mandi Bahauddin, Gujrat, Gujranwala, Sheikhupura, Hafizabad, Narowal, Sialkot, Murree, Galyat, Rawalpindi, Jhelum, Chakwal, Attock, Mianwali, Khushab, Sargodha, Faisalabad, Jhang, Toba Tek Singh and Sahiwal. Heavy falls may also occur at few places during the period.
Lahore’s maximum temperature will likely remain between 36-38°C on Thursday and 35-37°C on Friday.
Meanwhile, rain-wind/thundershowers occurred at isolated places in northeast Punjab during the last 24 hours.

Attock remained the hottest place in the province where the maximum temperature was recorded at 46°C. The maximumthe temperature in Sargodha was recorded at 45°C.
In Lahore, maximum temperature was recorded at 39°C. Relative humidity in the evening was recorded at 59 per cent.
