LAHORE – Rains of varying intensities are predicted in parts of Punjab on Sunday night and Monday.
As per the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), a westerly wave prevails over the upper/western parts of Pakistan which will likely strengthen over the upper parts tomorrow.
Under these conditions, cold and dry weather is predicted in most districts of the province on Sunday night. Partly cloudy weather with light rain/drizzle is likely in Dera Ghazi Khan, Layyah, Bhakkar, Kot Addu, Rajanpur, Rahim Yar Khan, Multan, Murree, Galliyat and the Pothohar region.
On Monday, partly cloudy weather is expected in most upper districts of the province with rain wind/thunderstorms in Murree, Galliyat, Rawalpindi, Attock, Jhelum, Chakwal, Mianwali, Sargodha, Faisalabad, Gujrat, Gujranwala, Mandi Bahauddin, Sialkot, Narowal, Layyah, Bhakkar and Dera Ghazi Khan.
Fog (in patches) is likely in Lahore, Sheikhupura, Kasur, Okara, Jhang, Bahawalpur, Multan, Sahiwal, Khanewal, Rahim Yar Khan and surrounding areas during morning/night hours.
Lahore’s minimum temperature will likely remain between 12-14°C on Monday and 13-15°C on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, cold and dry weather prevailed over most parts of the province during the last 24 hours. Smoggy/foggy conditions persisted in patches in plain areas of Punjab.
However, Layya received 01 mm of rain.
Murree remained the coldest place in Punjab where the minimum temperature was recorded at 03°C. Relative humidity in the evening was recorded at 60 per cent.
In Lahore, minimum temperature was recorded at 13°C. Relative humidity in the evening was recorded at 49 per cent.
