WASHINGTON/ISLAMABAD – The United States has extended has extended warm congratulations to the people of Pakistan on the occasion of their Independence Day.
In a statement issued, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio praised Pakistan’s cooperation with the US in areas such as counterterrorism and trade. He expressed hope for expanding bilateral ties, particularly in emerging sectors like critical minerals and hydrocarbons.
“We look forward to fostering dynamic business partnerships that will promote a prosperous future for both Americans and Pakistanis,” Rubio said.
The message underscores Washington’s intent to strengthen strategic and economic engagement with Islamabad, as both nations explore fresh opportunities for collaboration in regional and global markets.
He said, “On behalf of the United States of America, I extend warm congratulations to the people of Pakistan on their Independence Day.
Together, through our cooperation on regional mediation, critical minerals, energy, counterterrorism, cultural heritage, and trade and investment, we are turning potential into progress and delivering real results for Americans and Pakistanis alike.
On this special occasion, we commemorate the partnership between our nations and the bonds of friendship between our peoples.”
US Chargé d’Affaires Natalie A. Baker also felicitated Pakistan on the Independence Day.
In a message on X, the US embassy wrote: “Happy Independence Day, Pakistan! The United States was proud to be one of the first nations to recognize Pakistan’s independence. Over the past eight decades, our friendship has only grown stronger. To our friends across Pakistan celebrating today, we wish you peace, joy, and a wonderful day with loved ones”.
