The World Bank has officially approved a major initiative to distribute 200,000 solar units across Sindh. Energy Minister Nasser Shah briefed the World Bank team on the distribution plan, which has received commendation from the financial institution, according to a spokesperson for the Sindh Chief Minister. In addition, a briefing on the Karachi Water and Sewerage Service Improvement Project (KWSIP) was conducted. The KWSIP aims to enhance water supply in the city and improve the financial health of the Water Board.

The board has appointed a Chief Financial Officer (CFO), as disclosed in the meeting. Audits for the Water Board’s fiscal years 2018-2019 and 2019-2020 have been completed. The audit for the period 2021 to 2024 is expected to be finalized by the end of September. Documentation for the K-IV expansion projects has been shared with the World Bank as part of the ongoing updates.
