KARACHI – Legendary cricketer and former Pakistan captain Wasim Akram, known globally as the “Sultan of Swing” has said that he exercises daily to maintain his fitness and follows a disciplined approach to eating and health.
Speaking to the media during an event at a local hotel, Akram emphasized the importance of mindful eating, saying, “I don’t eat like an animal; I eat like a human. Reviews and views on social media don’t bother me.” He humorously added, “You’ve never heard of anyone dying from eating less. But if you go to bed after eating 25 naans, how do you expect to wake up alive in the morning?”
He further revealed that he includes Psyllium husk (ispaghol) in both his breakfast and dinner to support his health.
Akram, who regularly shares fitness and health content on social media, said his videos are aimed at educating the younger generation about leading a healthy lifestyle. “The purpose is to raise awareness about fitness and encourage better habits among youth,” he said.
Speaking about his brief foray into acting, the former cricketer admitted he was unaware of the effort involved. “I didn’t know acting required memorizing every single line. From a distance, working in dramas and films seems easy, but it’s not,” he shared.
Akram said he had engaging and enjoying conversations with the entire case during the shoot after recalling a recent shooting experience with renowned actor Fawad Khan.
