The Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA) Lahore passes another milestone by adopting paperless human resource management technology system.
Provincial Minister for Housing Mian Mehmood-ur-Rasheed inaugurated the project at a ceremony held here on Friday. He congratulated WASA Vice-Chairman Shiekh Imtiaz Mehmood, Managing Director Syed Zahid Aziz and their team which contributed to the project.
Talking on this occasion, he said that it was the government’s top priority to incorporate modern information technology system to maximize transparency and effectiveness in public sector organizations. ‘We are on the role to establish WASA Lahore as the benchmark among all water utility providers in the country’, he said.
The paperless system enables to store informatio-n/documents digitally and will be easily and readily accessible on-demand within. The traceability of all documents will be possible on a single click, he added. Human Resource Management Information System (HRMIS) is a software-based arrangement that integrates different modules and processes to ensure the efficient management of existing tasks, said Vice Chairman Shiekh Imtiaz Mehmood.
It would drastically reduce the time of daily processes and will also be environment-friendly in terms of less paper consumption which will be extremely cost-effective, said Managing Director Syed Zahid Aziz.
He further said that the paperless system includes main HR functions like diary dispatch, payroll management, personal evaluation reports and pension management. Integrated Human Resource Management Information System is a systematic way to support effective processing, storage and sharing of information more efficiently, concluded the MD.
