KARACHI – Waqar Nawaz, son of veteran actor Fareed Nawaz Baloch passed away in Karachi, the family said Tuesday.
Demise news was confirmed by Yasir Nawaz in the early hours of Tuesday through his social media. While Yasir did not disclose cause of death, he shared that funeral prayers will be held today, June 24, at 1:30 PM, immediately after Zuhr prayers at Rehmania Masjid, Tariq Road, Karachi.
“Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji’un. With deep sorrow, we announce that our beloved and kind brother Waqar Nawaz has passed away,” Yasir wrote. “May Allah forgive his shortcomings and bless him with the highest place in Jannat-ul-Firdous. Please remember him in your prayers.”
Waqar Nawaz was part of a respected family in Pakistan’s entertainment industry. He was one of four brothers, including Yasir, Danish, and Dr. Faraz Nawaz. The siblings also have a sister, Anzalna. Their late father, Fareed Nawaz Baloch, was a veteran television actor known for his legendary contributions to Pakistani drama.
The news of Waqar’s passing has prompted an outpouring of condolences and prayers from fans and fellow artists across the country.
