Riyasat-e-Medina

Imran Khan Sahab has claimed that he will become Riyasat-e-Medina in Pakistan and What is the meaning of Pakistan, La Illah Illah Muhammad Ho Rasullah and How to find the true islami Nizam? Winston Churchill says, The Best argument against democracy is a five-minutes conversation with the average voters; Prime Minister Imran Khan claims that the country under him has entered the final phase to build Pakistan on the principles of Riyasat-i-Madina.
He defines this as “a society based on justice, compassion and the dignity of our human beings.” The concept of turning Pakistan into Riyasat-e-Medina, i-e the Islamic version of a welfare state is the very charming and fascinating concept in itself. In the state of Medina the second caliph Hazrat Umar (R.A) would not let a dog hungry fearing that he would have to give answer for it before Allah Almighty.
But where we are standing practically to achieve our goals? What to say about the other bigger goals to reach at the destination of a welfare state a 2018 nutrition map of the world shows that South Asia tops the list of the countries where children are not growing well. Entire South Asia region is marked red because according to this UNICEF study 49.9% children in this region are either stunted or malnourished. Plight of children in Pakistan is worse than neighbouring countries.
The right to food is a human right, it includes protecting the for people to feed themselves in dignity sufficient availability of food, people’s access to it and that it adequately meets the individual’s dietary needs. The right to food protects the right of all human beings to be free from hunger, food insecurity and malnutrition Similarly the right to food is enshrined in the Constitution of Pakistan Article 38 says, the State shall provide basic necessities of Life such as food, clothing, housing, education and medical relief. But this does not mean that all of this would be provided free cost, as this is not rational or practical either.

Unemployment

There are different causes of unemployment around the world. The main reasons are population growth, rapid technological change, lack of education or skills, and rising costs. The consequences of unemployment are economic, social and psychological problems. Unemployment has become a major issue in our lives, our health, our economy and our community. Therefore, countries should build more businesses and factories to provide more opportunities and jobs to meet the needs of the larger population. In addition, unemployment allowance must be available until the unemployed find work to help them with their financial problems. It is also important to use vocational training in conjunction with other skill-courses in order to improve education and skills of staff to meet the needs of the labour market.
Unemployment also affects a person psychologically. Numerous studies have shown that unemployment and lack of self-esteem and confidence cause depression. In addition, there are high levels of anxiety and stress, psychosomatic illness, useless self-worth and empowerment. Unemployed people have family pressures as well as societal pressures. Government can remove unemployment by skill development. In our country unemployment is the major issue. It is due to lack of required skills. People can get employed just after their graduation if they had developed required skills for the specific job or post. Government should open such educational institutes which not only work on formal education but also on skill development. This is the only solution to the problem if we really want to compete with other developing nations.

Darkest day

11 December 2019 can be called one of the darkest days in the history of Pakistan. Recently, a video went viral on social media of one of the members of the young doctors’ association who was praising himself like he had achieved a milestone in his career. I want to ask the authorities of the institution: is this the standard of their education?
I have seen other videos too in which lawyers are seen marching towards PIC and storming the hospital with stones and sticks as if they are on the border fighting for their homeland. The irony is that none of them feel ashamed after the attack and are defending themselves as if they all are innocent. Some of them even have the audacity to defend this attack by labeling it as self-defence! What a disgrace. Their seniors are also giving statements that this incident was just a result of the video that went viral. They claim that they were provoked and mocked and that’s why some of them lost self-control.
This is the standard of our judicial machinery where we seek to get justice. Today I realise why people do not prefer seeking recourse to law. The government has to take some bold steps towards this incident by giving severe punishment to the people who were involved from both sides. To prevent these types of incidents from happening in the future, we need to educate masses on social media about hazards of exploiting any news. I hope justice will prevail and not be delayed like always.

Increasing irregularities

Reports reveal various irregularities in the management and utilization of funds by different federal and provincial level organizations nowadays. Irregularities are identified in the purchase and procurement and implementation of job quotas, coupled with hiring of accommodation for those who are working on contract for a definite period and transport facility.
The said rules of various organizations are loud and clear that those working on contract are not entitled for any hiring facility, but in contravention with the said rules they have been given the hiring facility and millions of rupees loss has been caused to the national exchequer. The Hiring Facility Rules have been misinterpreted for personal benefits. Similarly, the Transport Facility Rules which say that only ‘ pick and drop’, facility would be provided to the officers working on contract but in conflict with the said rules official vehicles have been misused, retained and umpteen times taken out of city on long drive and caused heavy fiscal loss to the national exchequer.
The persons in authority placed in those organizations have made every possible effort to cover up the glaring irregularities, but irregularities speak volumes. All personal contacts and influence is being used so that a true picture of administrative and fiscal irregularities should not come in the knowledge of the highest destination. Whether a true picture or information about massive irregularities committed so far come in the knowledge of those who are at the helm, but the question is: why such rules are framed? Why rules are made? ….Only to break them, only to violate them. When will we become a law-abiding nation? Is there any hope?

Winter and street crimes

When the winter comes the street crime rates are getting increased. Peoples are scared to come out from their homes after 9:00 pm. According to the latest statistics of Pakistan Bureau of Statistics website, Punjab has been continuously top listed province in street crimes for 4 years. Rawalpindi is the major city that is facing more street crimes than other cities of Punjab.
In Rawalpindi, snatchers that are more active in winter nights especially in the areas where street crimes are rapidly growing in winters are Raja Bazar, Murree Road and Tench Bhatta. Residents of these areas are very angry with concerned authorities for not taking timely action and urge them for immediate steps to end this menace. Dolphin squads were deployed at these spots with the objective to focus purely on crime control. But they fail to fulfil their objective.
This special task force have no special impact on the rate of street crimes, they are seen mainly on roads at daylight only. I hope concerned authorities will take an immediate action to solve the streets crime issue of Rawalpindi city.
