Importance

of general healthcare

Healthcare and education constitute an integral part of any nation in the world. The leading nations spend enormously on the progress of these two spheres. Likewise, our beloved country Pakistan requires the emphasis of the sitting government in Islamabad for healthcare. The medical centres for national health such as PIMS, Polyclinic, General Hospital and Holy Family Hospital are engaged in lighting candles for the human cause.

If a specific emphasis on these centres is made and the advanced instruments and facilities are supplied, the entire healthcare needs can be ensured. The Pakistani nation takes an active part in charitable campaigns. A large number of medical institutes including the Shifa Foundation, Shifa Eye Trust and The Diabetes Centre (TDC) Islamabad in Pakistan operate because of such a magnanimous passion.

TDC situated at Murree Expressway near Phulgran Toll Plaza is such a wonderful institute that is a not-for-profit organization and provides state-of-the-art healthcare facilities. Thus, it is important to acknowledge the services of these institutes so that they may grow further to cater healthcare facilities to all segments of society in Pakistan.

Smuggling

Smuggling is the illegal transportation of objects, substances, information or people, such as out of a house or buildings, into a prison, or across an international border, in violation of applicable laws or other regulations. It means to import or export secretly contrary to the law and especially without paying duties imposed by law.

It has become a huge problem in Pakistan. Smuggling across Pakistan’s borders with Iran and Afghanistan continues to plague the country’s economy. According to the report, from 2014 to 2018, the volume of goods smuggled into Pakistan increased nearly threefold. In terms of value as a share of Pakistan’s GDP, smuggling went up from 3.88% to 11.25% in that period. According to the report, smuggled goods have penetrated several sectors of Pakistan’s economy.

Smuggling is highly harmful to any country. Firstly, the country loses a lot of money by way of unpaid taxes and duties when goods are smuggled in or out. Secondly, the industries of the country are badly affected when foreign goods are sold at prices lower than their market prices inside the country.

Authorities should take the necessary steps to check and stop smuggling. First of all, we should ask the people through newspapers, radio, and television and through public speeches. Not to buy smuggled goods. Secondly, we should develop industry and trade inside the country so that most of the attractive electronic and other goods of daily use are produced properly inside the country. Thirdly, we should take care that the quality of goods produced inside the country is better or at least the same as that of foreign goods. Fourthly, we should punish smugglers heavily so that the smuggling of drugs and other banned goods stops forthwith.

Don’t let Islamabad be Karachi

In the start, mobile larceny was an issue in very few areas in Karachi but overtime it arose and spread to the whole city. This mobile snatching disease not only remained in just one city but it had scattered in large cities, nowadays. Islamabad, which is considered a very well planned and very secure city, is seen as insecure because mobile snatching is becoming a new profession as modern burglar. When I was going for having sehri, a person with a mobile in his hand was stepping in front of me. Two guys came and suddenly snatched his mobile and went on their way, very quickly. That person ran after them but they were too fast and a person couldn’t approach them.

Then people gathered but all in vain. People were saying several other cases have happened in a couple of days. This event shocked me that this could happen even in Islamabad. Then I realised that there must be some lack in the Police and Management Authority. Especially at sehri times, most of the policemen become busy in sehri and lazy after sehri and taking advantage of their laziness, snatchers perform their tasks. So, it is requested that Islamabad Police should take strict action against snatchers and don’t let Islamabad be Karachi.

Rule of law promotes progress

Preservation of rule of law by every citizen is a prerequisite for real progress in all spheres of life in a country. Execution of rule of law is pivotal as it ensures sustainability, accountability, fairness and access to justice to all. No state can accomplish success and run smoothly without implementation of rule of law. It is the backbone of peace and harmony in any state. Every successful society in the world has progressed owing to implementation of laws and regulations.

One of the main reasons behind Pakistan’s continuous crises is absence of rule of law. Unfortunately, in our country we see different levels of implementation of law to different classes. The constitution of Pakistan also emphasises on importance of rule of law but woefully, our country has achieved very little success in making it practical. If we want to progress in all spheres of life as a nation then implementation of rule of law must become our first priority.
