Heinous crime

In Pattoki, Kasur, a poor vendor was allegedly beaten to death by wedding guests while selling Papar inside a wedding hall. A brawl had come about between the deceased and partakers of the wedding ceremony procession at a Marriage Hall, after which poor hawker succumbed to his injuries on the spot.

Viral videos on social media show the vendor’s body, lying on the floor while guests continued eating at the wedding. Regretfully stated, it’s an entirely a tragic, inhumane and heartbreaking incident. Nevertheless, Punjab Government should take a stern action against the perpetrators of the incident. Moreover, I humbly request CM Punjab, Usman Buzdar, to help deceased family.

Social media exploitation

To be in touch with what is happening in the world or our own country, I used to scroll down the social media platforms like Facebook and Twitter. It is unfortunate to share that the nasty trends of Twitter are exposing our ethics and ethos that how we are gradually being transformed from civilized to unethical and mannerless nation.

There is no denying that civilized dissent is the key to progress, however, the way and words being used at these platforms do not exhibit being dissident rather in contra to it. It seems like social media has become a mode of exploitation and is getting worsening by each passing day. Though it’s proper use can make a person self-sufficient succinctly. Pakistan is the fourth leading possessor of talented people to do freelancing and earn online. This is the real mean of using Smartphone rather than participating in nasty trends of Twitter.

No words are enough to describe the ignorance since mirroring the reality is a “taboo” in our society and the recent PECA Ordinance has aggravated the injuries by passing it sans any consultation and debate in Parliament leaving the dissident to numb their cognition. By thousands of other uses, we chose exploitation following the use of Smartphone, laptops and tablets.

What we learn, is being radiated in the form of exploitation, meaning we learn to exploit the things instead of using them for what they are created. To avert the nasty trends on the social media platforms, there are two alternatives, first, to stop scrolling in order to segregate the exploitation and two, to mend the nation from through comprehensive, coordinative and cooperative campaign on the mainstream and social media so that may they not cause a person to be frustrated by viewing the exploitation on these platforms as succinct as possible.

Air pollution

Air pollution is one of emerging issues of Pakistan. Air pollution is caused by solid and liquid particles and by certain gases that are in the air. Air pollution can be caused by many factors which include the natural and man-based factors. Natural factors like volcanoes, wildfires, pollen and dust storm are contributing to air pollution. We can’t avoid these factors but we can limit the activities of humans which are source of it .

Burning of fossil fuels release nitrogen oxides into the atmosphere, which contribute to the formation of smog and acid rain. Industrial activities, from the production of electricity and cement, to waste management and incineration, and the intensive rearing of livestock are responsible for emissions of harmful substances, including sulphur oxides, nitrogen oxides, ammonium, dust and mercury and other heavy metals, into the air. Burning household garbage in burn barrels, stoves and fire pits creates pollution that’s dangerous to human health and contaminates the air.

Not only industrialization but agriculture activities are also contributing to air pollution like pesticide and fertilizers are mixed with invasive specie to promote growth. Once it is sprayed, it flows into the air and contaminate it. Vehicle pollution is one major source for this issue. Vehicles release harmful gases in air which increase pollution. It not only affects air quality but also have lethal consequences on humans, crops and animals. It can cause respiratory diseases like asthma, bronchitis and lungs cancer. It can have adverse effect on pregnant women as it can induce stillbirth, miscarriage and poor brain development of a baby.

It can cause acid rain which in turn cause yellowing of monuments which is known as stone cancer. Plants can also develop adverse changes in them like welting, yellowing of leaves and eutrophication. We should reduce the use of private cars and prefer the public transport, reduce fireplace and wood stove use, avoid burning leaves, trash, and other material and ban on smoke emitting cars. Government of Pakistan should take strict notice against factors contributing to air pollution and save the earth and lives on it.

Curriculum must be changed

The hugest problem of the education system in Pakistan is the outdated curriculum because the unfashionable books are being taught to children which are much far from the contemporary world virtue of it both teachers and students are uninterested to participate in class activities and curriculum is failing to keep young people interested in school. It is heartbreaking to know that the curriculum in Pakistan is at least four decades behind the international curriculum.

PMIK always talks about the big dreams such as to build PM House a university but never improve the textbooks of the country. As a result, it seems that our government has failed and has not taken action to bring reform in the education system because recently Prime Minister Imran Khan announced to introduce Single National Curriculum (SNC) in the country. It could have been a good initiative to bring implementation in the education sector, but still, no good steps are being taken. Government should take strong steps to bring quality education because this is the only way to progress the country
