Need automation

Accepting change is a prerequisite for success if we are to succeed. As world is rapidly adopting automation, switching to high value computers and robots. Developed countries have automated their industries, markets and different sectors. It results in higher production rates, increased productivity, better product quality and increased reliability.

We belong to a developing country but still neglecting this opportunity. We have not accepted it yet while rest of the world is moving fast in this direction. Our industry is entirely dependent on human labour and manual tools for its work that is not only time consuming but also costly. As Pakistan is an agricultural country, most of our farmers still cultivate in traditional ways. We don’t facilitate our farmers with latest and appropriate equipments.

For business, the performance benefits of automation are relatively clear. For instance, if I talk about e-commerce portal like, Amazon, Ali Baba and Daraz etc; they get their work done by using machines rather than depending on humans and people who are working on it get an opportunity to earn good income. We must adopt automation and should also educate our people and provide awareness about usage of latest technologies.

Intolerance

Intolerance in our society has increased leap and bound. Increase in divorce rates, disputes between parents because of intolerance severely hurts mental health of children. If a child does not learn to tolerate every situation from childhood, he/she is bound to be intolerant as adult.

There is a need to accept the importance of tolerance for better future of our kids and country. To make our homes peaceful and happy for our coming generations, intolerance needed to be wiped out. Practising tolerance and acceptance will bring peace in our life.

Expanding horizons for women!

Women’s equality in all spheres of life has been a contested issue not only in Pakistan but worldwide. Be it income disparity, education opportunities, leaving career to take care of families, etc., has always been the talk of the analysts and opinion-makers. Women’s empowerment is a very important indicator of a country’s growth and development.

The role of women cannot be undermined in any field as they deliver more than expected and when given the opportunities excel in everything they do. Their handling of situations with intelligence and empathy produces greater results. Women make up almost half of the population with only a quarter of the labour force in the country. Growing up girls always show great results in education, if given a chance, they are good position holders in board exams showing signs of boundless potential just like boys if not more.

Many at that stage either opt for medicine becoming doctors only to drop out of their careers in many cases or end up becoming teachers; very few opt for other fields deeming them “unsuitable” for females. While their counterparts, that is, ‘boys’ enter in large numbers in fields like politics, engineering, the corporate world, etc.

The real estate sector, like many other sectors and industries in Pakistan is male-dominated. The male workforce gets more and better opportunities and advancements in their careers. There are private sector entities that offer many high-profile jobs to the potential female workforce. There are managerial posts, team leads, data analysts, marketing experts or designers and content writers.

It is need of the hour that the women enter the corporate world in large numbers and contribute their share in diverse fields and prove their mettle. The corporate world has a plethora of opportunities for women in various fields to expand their horizons and produce results to take the country on the pathway of success.

Cyber crimes

Not like old times when war was all about bloodshed. World has revolutionised due to advancement in technology and as a result cyber security has contributed immensely in modern warfare. However, cyber security in Pakistan is still in development phase.

Although there is a law passed related to cyber crimes in Pakistan, the 2016 Prevention of Electronic Crime Act, still overall legislation related to cyber security is not strong enough to deal with the dynamic nature of threats that emanate from realms of cyber security.

Even in this era of innovation major powers like US, Russia, China and United Kingdom remain vulnerable to cyber threats. States are increasingly dependent on cyber technology, which also increases their chances of vulnerability. Our government has taken some initiative to spread awareness on cyber security among people but still there is a long way to go and government should put in more efforts to attain sound cyber security.
