Ravi Project
a land grab
Plans for building a Ravi dream project with high rise buildings ala Dubai style, alongside what was once a river, before Indus Basin Water Project, reduced to a sewage dump now for decades, is nothing but a sugar-coated Land Grab ala Bahria style, with tax amnesty schemes by the government.
Almost 102,074 acres of green agriculture land including 80,000 acres of rich farmland producing much needed fruit and vegetable for Lahore are planned to be converted into concrete jungle.
Whilst developers project it to be an ecologically friendly project, environmental scientists disagree.
Since there is no water in Ravi riverbed, the plan envisages building dams near Sialkot on 1000 acre of prime rice growing land to store monsoon rain water to fill dry river.
The River Ravi Project first conceived in 2006, was shelved because of cost factor and its negative impact on the environment.
The present plan is to emulate a Dubai style luxury housing on 90% of the land acquired, with 10% for low-cost housing.
As it is, hundreds of thousands of acres of green agriculture land in Lahore, towards the border area, has been reduced to concrete jungles.
Hardly 40% of it is covered with residences, the rest is just empty plots with streets, roads and well-lit street lights, being sold and resold as assets or files.
Quaid-e-Azam envisioned a modern democratic welfare state for all citizens, each enjoying equal rights and opportunities with security of life and property, but unfortunately powerful black economy has made it a haven for real estate developers enjoying endless tax amnesty schemes.
It is not just private land, but even forest and state land and declared amenity plots like Kidney Hill in Karachi which have been grabbed and sold.

Essay writing
An art of good writing comes from good reading. Writing is not an easy part as people think, if you skip the one part of learning then ultimately it will leave a harsh impact on your overall write up.
Way of learning is preferred by the students’ own choices. Some students believe that online learning essay writing is easy while others believe that it is very challenging.
To begin with, essay writing needs more practice to make an effective write up. During learning, students are making many mistakes even most of the time they ignore the teachers’ instructions to do the practice in an online system.
Although it is beneficial for themselves, but practice requires time and in homes it is hard to make the environment for study purposes, therefore online essay writing is the challenging part.
Furthermore, concentration in online system is a complex phenomenon. A human’s mind has the capacity of 45 minutes to hear the lecture with concentration. Nonetheless, some people said that when students see the videos then they can memorize all things quickly.
But in online system when students need to hear two or three videos of 30 minutes then there are chances to lose their concentration.
In addition, according to a survey, some analysts argue that online essay writing is an effective part in enhancing the strong form of ideas.
So, through online structure students can understand rapidly. However, ideas come from effective learning, and it depends on the self- interest, education background and method of preferences.
Therefore, you should promote and diversify our level of thinking in advanced methods.
Because competition is going to be increased, if you should not be able to update yourself with updating knowledge, you may suffer from complications.

Bad roads condition
Through the columns of your esteemed newspaper, I would like to draw the attention of the concerned authorities towards the bad condition of roads in our locality.
The condition of roads is deplorable with countless potholes making the purpose of the road, a failure.
Moreover, things get even worse during the rainy season when potholes are not visible due to the poor drainage system and the area becomes heavily accident-prone. The residents are facing a lot of inconvenience due to the road condition.
On behalf of the residents of North Karachi, I humbly request the authorities concerned to please look into the woes of the locality and take tangible measures so that the residents of this area may not suffer more and more agonies because they have been suffering a lot already.

Animals rights
Animals have rights to live in this world. Today, the rights of animals are being neglected. The animals have the right to food, to shelter, to protect their young and to kindness from human beings.
Animals can feel hunger, thrust, fear and even pain, but they can’t speak to express themselves.
Cart animals are made to carry heavy loads and are beaten cruelly even the donkeys hitched to carts have wounds on their backs, even this is unjust to them.
Stray animals like dogs and cats are often hit with sticks or stones. As people have rights to live peacefully, so, animals also have rights to live.
Even 50, 000 dogs die every year in Pakistan and animals are used for experiments which is painful for them. So, I request the countrymen to not violate the animals rights.

You may be asymptomatic
A lot of people all over the world have been infected with Coronavirus but have no symptoms of the disease at all like fever, cough, cold, body-ache, weakness, loss of appetite, etc. This means that they are asymptomatic.
Being asymptomatic means that you have no symptoms of Covid-19 but are Covid positive.
If you live in a house with people with a Covid-19 infection and you have no symptoms, you may be an asymptomatic and should take treatment for Covid-19 at the earliest. Precaution is better than cure.
