Women are beautiful creation of God

Women are the beautiful creation of God! The angel on the earth makes our life a wonderful experience all together. Imagining life without a woman is quite hard-hitting. This angel shakes the cradle with one hand and the earth with the other hand.
The fact that all the great people of the world are born from the womb of a woman and it is a woman from whom these great people have taken their initial teachings. And that is the reason we have always emphasised upon giving due respect to women in their life. And that is why Women’s Day (8 March) is celebrated with so much of zeal and fanfare and it has spread throughout the world.

Beauty standards

As we all know that the use of social media is widely increasing and the first thing that people do in the morning is to check their phone but with it comes the beauty standards that the use of social media is setting for the new generation in Pakistan. Small waist, big lips, perfectly shaped nose and clear skin are some of the standards that social media is setting for a person to be beautiful. People use different types of filters, apps, Photoshop and even surgical procedures to attain these features and to fit in. Plastic surgeries, different massages and use of silicon to make the face look like what the social media defines as a beautiful face are becoming a trend.
These beauty standards are impacting the minds and the behaviour of young generation of Pakistan making them believe that if a person has certain features, s/he can be regarded as handsome or beautiful without thinking for a minute that the pictures that they see on social media are highly photo shopped, the models they see have gone through many procedures to look like that and loads and loads of makeup and lighting is used to make them look perfect. These standards of beauty significantly impact the mental health of the people who desperately try to achieve these standards.
Humans are unique the way they are. Everyone has their own identity and set of features that make them beautiful. Trying to achieve certain features and beauty standards deteriorate the uniqueness of individual. For whatever religion or part of the world you are, you should know that God has created you in a unique way different from others and has instilled beauty in you that your personality reflects.

End the thrall of Covid

Don’t be negligent, “Don’t drop your guard,” “Don’t be misguided,” “Double down the efforts, “… These have been some of the severe warning signals from the international forums like CDC-Centres for Disease Control and Prevention as against the ongoing corona fight worldwide. Incidentally, most people are not ready to buy into these serious messages.
Although there have been encouraging measures and methods in place to reopen economy, schools, colleges, etc., the CDC has been rightly doing its bits and bytes through encouraging people to still wear masks and by warning against letting down guard on the coronavirus.
Though I have been in the habit of wearing a mask while out and off to somewhere outside and nearby, there has been the “mix and match” attitude from the people. Even then, I usually feel positive seeing others wear masks. As for the mask mandate, I have been trying to cajole friends and others into wearing the masks in my native areas like Tirunelveli in Tamil Nadu. With the mask on and by being ready to buy this fact, they can still make a big difference to the COVID fight.
Also, there is no need to get panicked by unnecessary hearsay like “We have not yet been out of the woods.” Though caught unawares by the new strain out of the blue, the world community has been rigorously fighting this virus through strong strategies and medically proven powerful vaccines. “Been there, done that” and that said, it finally falls in the hands of the people to permanently end the dangerous thrall of the coronavirus strictly following the rules and doing the things as per the government machinery.

Alcohol
usage among youths

Through the courtesy of your esteemed newspaper, I would like to highlight the social issue of alcohol consumption among the youth. Alcohol consumption is becoming a trend day by day; especially youths consider it as a part of their personality.
Even in colleges and universities, students are addicted to alcohol, caffeine and heroin. Basically they start from paan, gutka and then eventually it becomes their habit to consume alcohol for the sake of pleasure. Different drug supply companies and their agents promote the alcohol usage.
Students may take it as an adventure or time pass but it has a long lasting negative impact on their health and may cause a number of health hazards such as high blood pressure, dementia, cancer and to name a few. When a person is drunk, he loses his senses and he may commit serious crimes. In Islam, everything that provides state of unconsciousness is Haram. Therefore, alcohol usage must be prohibited and government should take a serious action against it.
