A surge
in abuse

The malign offence of physical abuse is rampant in the country. Every hour of the clock witnesses savagery almost everywhere with a ferocious intensity and mounting ratio. This crime is surging with no cessation put to its pace and is inflicting women, girls and kids alike. No one is shielded or at liberty to live a sigh of peace as assailment has taken the place of a society norm.
It is not just an incident afflicting the sufferer physically but is the source of self-esteem crumbling and psychological break-down. This trauma spills over lifespan of the victim, smashing the normal pattern of life that would be the case. To make matters worse, the recent hike in cases witnessed the zoic aspect of brutality on victims before the very eyes of their family members inclusive of children that proves to be a sore of souls for their lifetime.
The underreporting of cases is the catastrophic element prevalent in society. The reporting got somewhat better after Zainab’s culprit was hanged before her father. It served as a motivational glint for the victims and a source of reporting growth nevertheless the reporting ratio is much less than the actual happenings.
Whether reported or not, this inimical crime must be thrashed upon severely by punishing the culprits publically to ignite a wave of fear and accountability. When crimes have no limits and frequency, then why should the punishment have? The innovation in crimes calls for the uniqueness of retribution as well. It’s high time to take a stance on the matter promptly so as to assure the security and freedom of humanity; and barbarity must be put to an end.

Relief package

PM Imran Khan has announced a relief package for poor to help them in this pandemic but conditions in which people are forced to go for registration are terrible.
People are facing many troubles in different areas of the country, sitting on roads in crowds and waiting for their turns to be called for registration? PTI government should make a proper system for quick registration.

Chronic problems

My loved province Sindh is surrounded by a plethora of chronic problems: rapid population growth, illiteracy, unemployment, extreme poverty, child labour and abuse, and poor governance etc have devastated the peaceful and progressive Sindhi society. It is a heartrending reality that our representatives and bureaucrats are unable to resolve prevailing problems. Education of province is poorly managed.
It resultantly destroys the future of Sindh. We need good governance in which we can improve the condition of Sindh: without improving governance it will not be possible to stabilise the alarming population growth rate and to eradicate extreme poverty from the resources-rich province. Sindh needs proper attention of honest and sincere officials to fight against corruption, illiteracy and child abusers. Indeed, Sindh is a rich province with variety of natural resources, but it has been a victim of politics of successive former rulers and even the incumbent ones. Politicians keep Sindh‘s people poor, illiterate and unfamiliar to technology because the poor and illiterate people can easily be exploited to perpetuate feudal framework or aristocracy, plutocracy or ‘waderacracy’ in Sindh province.
Politicians in Sindh have left no means to loot Sindh of her beauty and even they gave speed to waderacracy so as to rule Sindh for years ahead. If one finds about merit in public and private institutions of Sindh, he would find vulnerable situation. Be it doctor in hospital, teacher in school, professor in university, constable in Sindh Police or Peon in Town Committees. All are employed either by nepotism or by favouritism. Therefore, we as victim of politicians, request PM Khan to look after Sindh people and get our lives rid of these selfish politicians.

Traffic problems

With the increasing population, the problem of traffic control has become very acute in almost all the big cities like Karachi, Lahore, Rawalpindi, Islamabad, Quetta, Peshawar and Hyderabad. The increase in traffic has also increased the number of traffic accidents. Unfortunately, we have little traffic sense and perhaps no respect for the traffic rules. Undoubtedly, bad roads and high speed driving are the main causes of traffic accidents. Government is doing little efforts to avoid traffic jams and other traffic problems in Pakistan. The rising number of smoke belching vehicles during the rush hours has left the traffic policemen gasping for a whiff of fresh air.
They are badly affected by the evils of air pollution and a majority of them are either suffering from some ear, nose or throat problem or have problems of burning eyes, dizziness, lung infection etc. The high density of vehicles in metros is also responsible for the rise in the number of road accidents. Traffic jams is another area where precious main hours get wasted and if anyone is heading for a hospital in case of an emergency, the patient can only look up to God for mercy.
The area for parking vehicles, in metros especially is constantly shrinking under pressure from the rising number of cars and bikes. People don’t have traffic sense. Traffic police and media should play their role in creating traffic sense amongst the people. Our government and traffic police department must make the conditions of roads good. Different timing for starting and closing of offices and schools should be done to avoid the rush in the morning, afternoon and evening on roads. If they do so, there will be fewer chances of accidents and traffic will move smoothly in city and people will find themselves easy in driving

PDM, 4th power show

The Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) held its fourth power show on Sunday in Peshawar. The JUI-F chief said the attendance of KP’s people in large number in this rally is a referendum against the PTI government and shows that people have rejected the government which came into power through rigged elections”.
Other leaders of opposition parties that are a part of the PDM called for fair and transparent elections to be held in the country, again terming the incumbent government as a ‘selected’ one.
I would like to suggest the all concerned authorities to revisit some of the areas and bring some changes in election system. Mostly problems are taking place due to the so-called elections. As, it is a digital era, election system in Pakistan should be modernized. Modern techniques should be adopted to have the elections conducted. Instead of applying the so-called British era voting system, Election Commission of Pakistan needs to design a new streamline for elections. There are various methods and ways to have transparent elections staged. It is time the ECP will bring some changes to election system. And most importantly, ECP for the most part, needs to make it sure that vote of public does have its due respect in the coming elections.
