Beats in human guise
Heart sheds the tears of blood, humanity feels embarrassed having witnessed Lahore motorway tragedy. Human brutality transgressed its limits, when the woman was outraged of her modesty barbarously in front of her three innocent children, crying helplessly for assistance, Alas! None felt responsibility to save her from perpetual damnation. It breaks me into pieces and shakes my existence to reckon the pain of the woman, cries of little angels and their plea to save their mother from cruel molestation of the beasts.
The Punjab police pontificated that the route was unsafe, then why that was made functional? Whose responsibility was that to provide security to the Motorway? These questions strikes the mind of everyone. It is ruthless to question the piety and sanctity of the woman going out with her children at mid night, instead the govt should acknowledge its incompetence and failure of law and order. Punjab police as well the govt officials seem vogue and unclear to probe the case so far. It further saddens me to note how the woman will survive in this two fold conventional society, where myriads of satirists will suspect her character.
It is also the matter of immense excruciation to ponder how those guiltless children will bear the brunt of criticism and anguish. It shatters my mind to think how the victims will integrate in this oppressive system. It is strongly demanded that the culprits be immediately arrested and put behind the bars and be given severe punishment for their heinous crime. We, all Pakistanis have to stand by the victims and be useful to them in this grim situation. The govt. Should compensate the collateral damage to the inflicted family and take all measures to integrate them.

Books are companions
Books are said to be the best companions one can ever have in life. There are lots of benefits of reading books. The best of all is that we erase our ignorance and become an erudite. Books have many attributions on their credit as they are said to be best guide that never get irritated of our follies and insane questions. They never misguide us; rather they make us walk on right track of truth and fact. Books are the perfect source of knowledge and guidance. In the present era of competition, the only source of contentment, delectation and peace of mind is book. Success can never be imagined without books. Book is like a castle with thousands of windows and doors filled with treasure of information. Reading books and making friendship with books makes us superior over others on the basis of knowledge. People with good reading habits are generally found to be more knowledgeable than the people who don’t read books at all. This is why books are your best companions.
As the length of an ocean cannot be measured, the benefits provided by books cannot be measured too. There is one fine saying about the importance of books that if you want to be a leader, you need to be a reader. Books are more powerful than weapons. All the information, knowledge and wisdom of world is buried in books. So, let’s befriend with books since they are friend of all the weather. They are not like worldly friendship to be friend of fair weather just. Read books and suggest everyone to do the same.

Punish to deter
This week a lady while going Gujranwala from Lahore was gang raped when her car ran out of patrol. Soon after the CCPO Lahore Mr Umar Shaikh instead of arresting the culprits twisted the issue by criticizing the lady for driving at night alone. It raised a question on our priorities that either we should take concern of the security of citizens of Pakistan which is fundamental right under Article 25 of the Constitution of Islamic Republic of Pakistan or the choice of lady to drive alone at night on motorway was a wise decision?
Definitely the issue of rape, now if those rapists are arrested, convicted even then it is not certain that this conviction will play key role to scale back such heinous crimes? Just because the sole solution to reduce the crimes of such heinous nature is enforcement of Islamic Punishments, just like the punishment of public hanging for rapists. The aim of punishment is deterrent of further committing, if we will not deter the criminals, we will not get the ratio of such crimes reduced.

Help poor, achieve democracy
When we acknowledge International Day of Democracy it is important to review the state of democracy in poor countries. Poor countries fail to implement democracy because there is a perception that their sovereignty will be interfered with and they lack commitment and enough resources to fully implement democratic.
There could be some other obstacles which hinder poor countries from achieving democracy. Poor countries should be supported to promote the rule of law at the national and international levels and ensure equal access to justice for all and substantially reduce corruption and bribery in all their forms. They should be highly encouraged to develop effective, accountable and transparent institutions at all levels and ensuring responsive, inclusive, participatory and representative decision-making at all levels.
There should be enough resources to ensure public access to information and protection of fundamental freedoms, in accordance with national legislation and international agreements. Democracy is crucial in ensuring the free flow of information, participation in decision-making and accountability for the response to the pandemic. It is not good enough to blame poor countries for failure to implement democracy without addressing the other challenges and obstacles they face which interfere with the promotion and implementation of democracy.
