The purpose and philosophy behind this Eid is to commemorate the noble act of Prophet Ibrahim (AS) (Also Abraham in Christianity). Million of animals are sacrificed worldwide during the festival. During three-day of festival, camel, buffalo, cow, goat or a sheep is slaughtered and one-third portion of its meat is given to poor, one-third to relatives and remaining is kept for self-use.

Screen addiction
We are familiar with famous English proverb ‘excess of everything is bad’ but when it comes to technology, we turn a deaf ear. In present world glamour and glitters of science have overwhelmed everyone. It is undeniably true that science has introduced many marvellous inventions including cell phone.
Usage of cell phone has become a requirement for almost everyone, yet it’s excessive use is very harmful. Spending too much time on screen is not only brain degenerating activity but could also lead to insomnia. The usage of cell phone has increased manifold particularly in the pandemic. Moreover, parents are using cell phone as a tool to make their children busy but in the process their children get screen addiction. Cell phone usage should be limited.

Encroachments on Karachi roads
I want to draw attention of city administration and other related authorities about illegal stalls and cabins along side roads in Karachi. Because of illegal stalls and cabins on roads and footpaths traffic jams have become too common.
Last year, anti-encroachment department of KMC removed hundreds of illegal stalls and cabins from roads and footpaths from Tariq road and Sadar market, but what about hyderi market? Most of the people living here in North Nazimabad are having major traffic problems because of these illegal stalls and cabins. Why anti-encroachment department is not taking action against these encroachments.
I am very disappointed and want Karachi city administration and other related authorities to be fair to every citizen of Karachi and take keen interest in clearing out illegal stalls and cabins off these roads and footpaths of not only Hyderi market but from every single corner of North Nazimabad.

Prevailing conditions in hospitals
Private hospitals are too expensive, not all of us can afford. However if you go to government hospitals they are crowded and there is no proper system. Doctors don’t give proper attention to patients. It seems a poor man life doesn’t matter? They have no other option, because they can’t afford.
In government hospitals doctors are not paid properly. Being a doctor is a big responsibility to take care of patients. Unfortunately in our government hospitals, emergency wards, proper medication and care are not given to patients. These issues highly affect lower middle class, as they are the one who mostly depend upon government’s support to resolve their health issues. In many hospitals, one can even spot street cats roaming around in emergency wards and ICUs. There is no discipline or hygiene kept in these hospitals.
Most of the patients in government hospitals are forced to stay in unhygienic condition. Many doctors ask their patients in government hospitals to visit their private clinics for better treatment. Not everything is a business, why don’t they understand. Someone’s life is more important than your money. Money can be earned again, but what if someone lost the battle of life? This is a serious matter. Government should pay doctors properly, while proper staff should be present and cleanliness should be maintained.

Banning Youtube
The Supreme Court has recently hinted at banning YouTube in Pakistan. Justice Ameen and Justice Mushir were on the bench. Both judges don’t have any issue regarding freedom of speech but they added that many people are sharing negative comments and posting videos regarding judiciary, armed forces. They asked PTA officials to delete such content from social media but officials maintained that they can’t delete any thing from social media they just report it.
We’re living in era of technology and digital media. Everything is getting digital and our neighbouring countries are far ahead when it comes to technology. YouTube is a source of income for many social activists. They raised their voice on social media and make videos regarding current issue and become voice of the victim. Social media is now voice of the persons who are unable to reach officials, as they don’t have any resources.

CSS preparation
CSS is a competitive exam that allows budding candidates to try to get a job in civil bureaucracy. In Pakistan most number of students select engineering or medical field after intermediate while many choose to go for this exam, which is tough and competitive.
Students need to get on this side too. Fresh and young bureaucrats can help the country out of corruption, nepotism and ignorance. A bureaucracy that is dedicated, energetic can make Pakistan enjoy the fruits of real democracy. Government need to establish academies for those who need preparation and guidance for this exam.

Our political system
Nowadays Pakistan’s political system has become a hot topic of discussion and it seems that it’s going towards a complete failure. We are run by parliamentary system, in which the parliament elects the Prime Minister. People don’t elect their Leader or Chief Executive directly. Then the Prime Minister selects his cabinet which helps run the country.
Since Pakistan came into being we are following the British parliamentary system which is a total failure. It could be a successful system in the strong democratic countries but in the country where Establishment is more powerful than the govt, it doesn’t work as it should. In my view, after a long experience now we have to change our political system from Parliamentary to Presidential form, which is more effective in states where establishment has a strong footage.
