Educational structure

In Balochistan, the literacy rate is distressingly low. Many children are deprived of education due to poverty and inflation. They cannot afford to attend private schools. Moreover, numerous villages in Balochistan lack government schools, while in some places schools are poorly managed, with teachers failing to fulfil their duties effectively.

Additionally, at the end of each academic year, there is a delay of one or two months in providing students with course books. As a result, valuable time is wasted during this period. Even when books eventually arrive, the summer vacation follows, during which many students do not engage in educational activities. Consequently, approximately four and a half months of the year are lost.

Furthermore, considering that there are twenty-eight Sundays in seven months, the total time lost to non-educational activities becomes substantial. Despite this, academic curriculum remains incomplete by end of the year. I earnestly implore government of Balochistan to prioritise education of our children. Timely provision of schools and textbooks after exams is essential to prevent squandering of their potential and future opportunities.

A noble profession

Nursing is a noble profession that demands strong commitment, sacrifice, love for humanity and a high level of tolerance. Nurses, both male and female, are entrusted with care of the sick and injured in hospitals, though females constitute the majority in this field. This profession is often deemed more suitable for females due to their sensitivity, nurturing nature and patience.

Nurses undergo comprehensive education and training to prepare for their roles. They learn essential skills such as administering medication, assessing patient needs and providing compassionate care. Punctuality, diligence and attentiveness are paramount in their daily responsibilities. As liaison between patients and doctors, nurses play a pivotal role in healthcare settings. They communicate patient conditions to physicians, coordinate treatment plans and ensure patients’ comfort and well-being. Moreover, nurses serve vital roles during disasters, offering assistance and relief to affected communities. It is crucial to continuously improve nursing education and techniques to enhance patient care and support dedicated individuals who serve in this invaluable profession.”

Blood donations

Thalassemia, the most common inherited disorder worldwide, results from a deficiency in haemoglobin production. It presents a significant challenge due to its hereditary nature and absence of a definitive cure. In urban areas like Turbat city in Balochistan, the demand for a blood bank is crucial, as over 500 thalassemia patients require regular blood transfusions. However, accessing blood from hospitals can be tough, further complicating the process of finding suitable donors.

The Kech Thalassemia Care Centre (KTCC) in Turbat city is advocating for blood donations to assist individuals battling thalassemia. They stress urgent need for blood of all types to address escalating needs of these patients. It is imperative for people to step forward and donate blood to offer vital assistance during this critical period. Your contribution could potentially save a life and significantly impact well-being of these individuals in need.

Food crisis

The issue of food crisis in our country is one of the most pressing concerns that need immediate attention. The scarcity of food has brought multiple hardships that ought to be addressed promptly. In most of the areas like Balochistan, Sindh and Karachi people are suffering from various challenges regarding this critical issue.

The matter needs good attention by concerned authorities. Large number of people can be found who don’t have enough food to fulfil their requirements. It is high time that government resolve this significant issue. Regrettably the issue seems overlooked completely. I urge federal government to take decisive action to improve this situation.

Control stray dogs population

Dog biting cases have increased manifold in Pakistan, including cities, town and villages in all four provinces of Pakistan, Islamabad and Azad Kashmir. Hundreds of lives have been lost in many hospitals.

Civil hospital Karachi recorded 230 cases of injuries by stray dogs. Moreover, in rural areas due to non-availability of vaccines, patients cover a long distance to reach cities for treatment. The government of PM Shahbaz Sharif need to come forward and eradicate the menace of stray dogs and also help vulnerable people by providing them free vaccine.

Breast cancer

Breast cancer is the most common disease in women and second leading cause of death in women after lung cancer. Breast cancer is abnormal growth of cells that form tumours. These cells grow uncontrollably and have the ability to spread to other parts of the body, becoming deadly. Breast cancer cells originate inside milk ducts. They can spread into breast tissue, causing lumps or thickening,

In Pakistan in 2018, 627,000 deaths were attributed to breast cancer. The reason for this is that in this era, women feel ashamed to discuss their breast diseases. Therefore, in our country, many women are suffering from changes or if your nipples become sore, change shape, or if there are skin dimpling on the breast, it could be a sign of breast cancer.

It should be emphasised to all women that if they experience these symptoms, they should inform their parents and seek treatment. Breast cancer can be treated with surgery, radiation therapy, chemotherapy, hormone therapy and targeted therapy. Through these treatments, lives can be saved.
