Atrocities against Palestinians
It is very heart wrenching to see the Israeli forces striking every day innocent people of Gaza. Unfortunately, Gaza has become a region shattered by oppression and killing. It has been reported by various news sources that Israel since early October has killed over 30,000 civilian people in the Palestinian territory, while over 54, 637 people have been wounded. This is not just massacring the people of Palestine but massacring of the whole of humanity.
Al Maghazi camp is one of several in Gaza established in 1949 has also been hit by an Israeli air strike last Sunday that killed, at least 70 people. Their livelihoods have been destroyed. Their entire families have been ruined. People are leading miserable and vulnerable life. They are suffering the most. The Israeli forces have left no stone unturned in demolishing the people of Palestine. It is very shameful for the so-called champions of democracy and the powerful countries that they are even not condemning and criticising such ongoing brutalities and cruelties against the innocent ones.
The world has turned a blind eye to these atrocities. The woes and the grievances of the oppressed and suppressed ones have fallen on deaf ears. Indubitably, this is completely a violation of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. The UNO and the other relevant authorities have failed to address these issues and take any severe steps against the oppressors. The international media is also silent on this ongoing repression and injustice. These oppressions and suppressions against the people of Palestine must be condemned and stopped. The woes of the innocent ones must be heard, not be silenced or ignored at all.

SPSC result
SPSC announced the CCE-2020 advertisement in 2019 and conducted the written exam in 2020, but it took more than 2 years to announce the result. Suddenly, SPSC was terminated by a court verdict due to corrupt practices in recruitment process. After the institution was reinstated, it was revealed that the CCE-2020 exam result had been manipulated by former SPSC high officials. Despite being under court supervision, the exam was affected by corrupt practices.
Following court directions, SPSC conducted a fresh CCE-2020 exam almost six months ago. Candidates are eagerly awaiting the result, hoping for merit to prevail this time. However, the delay in announcing the CCE-2020 result raises severe suspicion among candidates and the general public who closely monitor SPSC activities. It is imperative for SPSC to restore trust and maintain its dignity by ensuring a merit-based recruitment system.

Freelancing faces problems
Pakistan still struggles to maximise its benefit from freelancing industry. As a nation struggling to provide economic opportunities, free-lancing or digital work is a welcome alternative by many of the skilled population. The current cost of living crisis becomes much more manageable even if only one family member is working online for an international contractor.
However, instead of utilising this opportunity to remotely outsource its skilled population, Pakistan is falling behind due to two major shortcomings. Firstly, the electricity cuts severely impact freelancers’ ability to work productively. Electricity is vital for remote work, as you need a stable and consistent Wi-Fi connection as well as power for charging appliances.
Moreover, even if freelancers adapt to routine cuts, often there are unscheduled power cuts which inhibit freelancers’ ability to complete their projects on time and build a strong profile in the digital industry. In addition, Pakistan also lacks digital payment methods such as Apply Pay or Paypal that are used by contractors worldwide. Thus, Pakistani freelancers have to use alternative payment methods that often charge higher fee and a lower conversion rate. Not only do the workers themselves suffer but also contractors themselves become hesitant to hire individuals who do not have easy payment options in place.
