The novella Good Bye Mr. Chips by James Hilton has been included in Intermediate Part II English since long and is not replaced or revised after inclusion. Every year, it is debated among the students and teachers to replace it with the other fictional or non fictional literary works like science fictional novels or the Prophet’s life. There is a lot of advancement in the world literature and Pakistani English writers have also made their mark in various genres. The query is quite relevant and it should be considered for the improvement in coming years. Actually, the subject matter of the novella, as it revolves around the life of a teacher, suits for the students of Intermediate. The students have to understand the relationship of teacher and his pupils, this novella helps students to know that how a teacher, irrespective of his eccentricities, tries his best to provide services and teaches.
Moreover, teachers remain close to students that helps them to develop emotionally, academically and socially, the character of Mr. Chips vividly depicts this aspect of a teacher’s life. Mostly, teachers are not applauded for the services which they provide implicitly by the students and institutions. James Hilton’s work can help us to acknowledge undue efforts of the teachers, particularly in the private sector. I am writing to express my concern about the prevalent issue of smoking in public areas which seems to lack proper regulations. The non-implementation of laws addressing this matter has led to numerous challenges for the public. Regrettably, many smokers are oblivious to the potential dangers their careless behaviour poses.
This disregard for safety measures has resulted in an alarming increase in incidents where fires are ignited by smokers. Despite the presence of instructions and warnings, smokers often ignore them, causing distress for those in their vicinity. Unfortunately, there appears to be a lack of governmental action in enforcing restrictions on smoking in public spaces. It is imperative that authorities, such as the police, take responsibility and address this issue promptly.
I urge smokers to be more mindful of their actions and consider the consequences of their behaviour on the wellbeing of others. A collective effort is needed to ensure a safer and healthier environment for everyone.

I am writing to express my concern and draw attention to the issue of unattended garbage piles at Chour Chowk Rawalpindi. The accumulation of waste in this area has become a growing problem affecting the hygiene and cleanliness of the people living there. Despite numerous attempts to bring this issue to the local authorities the situation remain unresolved. The garbage piles not only present an unsightly appearance but also pose serious health risks to the residents. I have seen my relatives suffering because of this issue. The unpleasant odour and potential for the spread of the diseases demand immediate action. I urge the concerned municipal authorities to take swift measures to address this issue. Regular and timely garbage collection is essential. The residents of the Chour Chowk deserve a clean and healthy environment and I believe that through your platform we can raise awareness and prompt the necessary actions from the authorities.
