Save humanity

The Israel-Palestine conflict has led to a long-lasting war and vast destruction between the two nations. For many years, Israel has continued to attack Palestine using bombs and military force, resulting in the destruction of numerous areas. One of the frequent targets of these attacks is the Al-Aqsa Mosque, leading to the loss of thousands of lives in the relentless violence between the two states.

The primary drivers of this violence are disputes over land, borders and religious differences. Recently, Israel attacked the Al Ahli Hospital in Palestine, resulting in the tragic death of almost 500 Palestinians and leaving many others injured.

In the midst of this turmoil, US President Joe Biden visited Palestine but controversially placed blame on the Palestinians for what is going on the region. The US, along with several other countries, supports Israel by providing them with powerful weapons, while Muslim nations express their support for Palestine. The only solution to this crisis is an immediate ceasefire facilitated by the United Nations Organization (UNO) to help end the suffering and destruction in the region.

Bloated bills

I am writing to express my deep concern about the steadily increasing electricity bill charges that the residents of our community are facing. I believe it is essential to address this issue urgently. While I understand that various factors contribute to the cost of electricity, it has become increasingly burdensome for ordinary families and individuals.

The current economic challenges, coupled with the rising prices of essential commodities, make it even more difficult for people to afford their electricity bills. This situation is putting additional strain on already tight budgets and affecting the overall quality of life for many in our community. I urge the relevant authorities and policymakers to take a closer look at the structure of our electricity bill charges and consider measures to alleviate the financial burden on consumers. This may include:

1. Conducting a thorough review of the pricing and tariff structure to ensure it is fair and reasonable.2. Encouraging energy conservation and the use of energy-efficient appliances through awareness campaigns and incentives.3. Exploring options for a subsidy or relief program for low-income households to ensure they can access essential electricity services.4. Promoting the adoption of renewable energy sources to reduce dependency on costly conventional energy.

It is crucial that we find a balance between maintaining the financial sustainability of the electricity providers and ensuring that electricity remains affordable for all members of our community. I believe that by addressing this issue, we can alleviate the financial burden on many families and contribute to a better standard of living for our citizens. I hope that our community concerns are taken into account, and positive steps are taken to address the rising electricity bill charges.

Self-care

Self-care is not a luxury; it’s a necessity in today’s fast-paced world. Prioritizing wellbeing is crucial for maintaining overall health. It involves intentional actions to care for your physical, mental and emotional health which, in turn, can reduce stress and anxiety, recharge your mind and boost self-esteem.

Self-care isn’t selfish; it’s essential. It doesn’t have to be elaborate; even simple acts like taking a deep breath when stressed can make a significant difference. By looking after yourself, you’re better equipped to meet the needs of others, particularly when supporting those in crisis.

Self-care is a personal journey and there’s no one-size-fits-all approach. It’s about improving both your physical and mental health, enhancing your quality of life and enabling you to be more mindful and resilient when helping others.

A cry for basic needs

I would like to draw the attention of the authorities concerned to the pressing issue in Awaran, a vast district in Kalat, where fundamental necessities, especially education, are sorely lacking. Proper educational facilities are virtually nonexistent, with only school structures in place, but none of them fully operational. Furthermore, the majority of these schools suffer from a severe shortage of teachers, making the situation even direr. In higher secondary schools, there are often just three to four teachers, which is woefully inadequate for a school of this level.

The lack of educational resources and facilities force many children to travel to other cities for their studies, incurring significant expenses. This is a tremendous burden on families, especially those already struggling in the current inflationary era. Regrettably, many underprivileged children are unable to access education in these distant cities and are forced to enter the workforce at a young age, thereby forfeiting their opportunity to receive an education.

It is imperative that we take immediate and serious steps to address this issue. Adequate funding and resources must be allocated to improve the education system in Awaran, ensuring that children can access primary education without undue hardship.

Understanding migraine

Migraine extends beyond mere headache, causing intense pain, light and sound sensitivity, nausea and visual disturbances. Lasting for hours or days, these symptoms significantly impact daily functioning. Despite its severity, migraine often faces dismissal and misunderstanding, perpetuating stigma and a lack of support. I urge the community to educate themselves, fostering compassion and creating a more inclusive environment. Healthcare providers must stay updated on treatments to offer effective support. In conclusion, migraine is a serious, worldwide issue. Let’s break the stigma and work towards a world where sufferers are heard, supported and can live their lives to the fullest.
