Economic crisis

The 2022-2023 Pakistan economic crisis has been an ongoing challenge for the country, causing significant political unrest and creating a difficult situation for citizens. The economic crisis has resulted in inflation, high unemployment rate and a decline in standard of living for many individuals and families.

One of the primary causes of the economic crisis is the high level of debt that Pakistan has accumulated in recent years. This debt has resulted in a severe strain on the economy with the government struggling to manage its finances and pay off its debts. As a result, govt has had to implement austerity measures, cutting spending on vital services and infrastructure projects which has only worsened economic situation.

Another contributing factor to the economic crisis is the lack of foreign investment in Pakistan. This has been due to a range of issues which include political instability, corruption and security concerns. Without foreign investment, the economy has been unable to grow and develop, leading to further economic hardships for many citizens.

The ongoing economic crisis has also led to significant political unrest in Pakistan. Protests and demonstrations have become a common sight, as citizens demand better economic conditions and improved living standards. The government has been struggling to address these concerns with many feeling that their needs and concerns are being ignored.

Misuse of social media

Social media is the greatest invention of modern technology. It is a virtual platform of connectivity. Thousands of mesmerizing apps have been created that include Facebook, Whatsapp, Twitter, Instagram and many more. But here, I want to invite your attention to a serious issue regarding misuse of social media. It has been spoiling our youths overtime. Misuse of social media is something which is unauthorized that threatens and harasses people interrupting their normal lives.

Stalking, identity theft, personal attacks and misusing someone’s private information are the worst forms of its misuse. Instagram is found to have the most negative impacts on people’s minds. Another misuse can be buying a product that doesn’t exist. A total of 5.16 billion people around the world are using the internet from the start of 2023 which is equivalent to 64.4 percent of the total population of world. 4.9 billion are active users. Looking ahead, cybersecurity ventures predict that there would be 7.5 billion users by 2030. Among these users, mostly social media is giving negative outcomes.

Misuse of media is leading to anxiety, depression, cyber bullying, addiction and exposure to content that is not age appropriate. So knowing all the negative impacts, we should limit use of social media, uninstall useless apps and engage ourselves in physical activities because the more stuff we are occupied with, the more time we would spend on social media that is risky. These ways will help the youth to be on the right track.

Recognise the value of Earth

When did Earth Day grow into Earth Month? Does it mean that we can choose any one of the 30 days to do “it” or we should do “it” for all the 30 days of the month? Well, let’s first see what they want us to do this year. Is it an easy “do”? Does it save “me” money? According to the World Economic Forum, by the year 2050, our oceans are expected to contain more plastic than fish. Essentially, this really means how much plastic we’ll be eating. Plastic, a fossil fuel product, does not biodegrade, instead it breaks down into tiny pieces that the fish eat, and then we eat the fish. Another common destination for plastic is the landfill. Since it contains toxic chemicals, landfills then contaminate groundwater.

I suggest we really need to try working on ending plastic pollution every day. It’s not hard, and it saves everyone’s money. Just like our trash cans, our garages and our homes, the earth has limited space to store junk. The theme for this year’s Earth Day is “Invest in our planet”. So let us follow this theme and put an end to plastic.

Tribal wars

in Sindh

Tribal wars have a devastating impact on our social and educational environment, causing loss of innocent lives, destruction of infrastructure and creating an atmosphere of fear and insecurity. These wars often stem from minor disputes or long-standing conflicts between different tribes which can escalate quickly and lead to further violence.

The tragic murder of Dr. Ajmal Sawand, a distinguished professor and a PhD holder, is just one example of the devastating effects of tribal wars on our society. His untimely death has not only deprived his family of a loved one but also the educational community of a valuable asset.

It is crucial to recognize the negative impact of tribal wars and take steps to prevent them from escalating. Education and awareness programs can play a significant role in promoting peace and understanding between different communities. The government and law enforcement agencies must also work together to ensure the safety and security of all citizens.

In conclusion, tribal wars have no place in a modern and civilized society, and we must do everything in our power to prevent them. By promoting peaceful coexistence and understanding, we can create a society that values diversity and respects the rights of all its citizens
