Virtual University of Pakistan has inaugurated its new Data Centre in Lahore.
The inauguration ceremony was held at VUP Head Office and was attended by, Virtual University of Pakistan Rector Naeem Tariq, ICT Director Tariq Ehsen Zafarpuri, principal officers, deans, directors and staff of Virtual University.
Focal person of this Data Centre Syed Naushad, briefing about the project, said that massive storage needs of the University were served through SAN and NAS deployment. ‘This data centre complies with security and threat advisories received from time to time from Higher Education Commission and other government security agencies.
The Data Centre has been established indigenously, saving millions of rupees for the University.
Ehsen Zafarpuri said that keeping in mind the imperative needs of technological advancements, Virtual University has launched a state-of-the-art Data Centre.
Virtual University of Pakistan has campuses all over Pakistan and all campuses were connected securely with Data Centre for voice, video and data communication.
Speaking on the occasion, the rector congratulated Networking Department on timely completion of this project. At the end, souvenirs were awarded to all networking team members and the chief guest.–PR
