ISLAMABAD – An accountability court on Monday fixed January 6, 2025 as the next date to announce verdict on the £190 million reference against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Founder Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi.
Accountability Court Judge Nasir Javed Rana was due to announce the verdict on Monday (today) but it was postponed.
Advocate Khalid Chaudhry, the counsel representing the PTI leadership, appeared before the court. During the hearing, Judge Nasir Javed Rana postponed the decision and remarked that “the verdict will not be announced today as holidays are approaching and there is also a course at the high court,”.
Advocate Khalid Chaudhary said that they were expecting the decision today [Monday] to which the court remarked that the next date of hearing would be provided shortly.
It may be mentioned here that the trial of £190 million reference was completed within a year, and during the trial, the NAB recorded statements of 35 witnesses.
The accountability court had reserved the decision on the £190 million reference on December 18, and the court staff had informed that the verdict would be announced on December 23.
