Vegetable bidding being monitored

Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Ali on Monday said that the bidding process in vegetable markets is being monitored continuously to pass benefits of the marked reduction in the prices of vegetables to the consumers.

He visited vegetable Market GM Abad and inspected the bidding process of vegetables.

He visited various sheds and inspected the bidding procedure and record of vegetables and fruits supply.

He urged the Assistant commissioners to be present during the bidding process in the vegetable markets and ensure that the fruits of reduction in quotas are reaped by the common man.

He also reviewed the cleanliness situation in the vegetable markets while directed to implementation of Corona SOPs in letter and spirit.

He also reviewed the security arrangements at the vegetable market and directed to improve it further.

Meanwhile, as many as 24 more shopping malls, 5 restaurants, four grocery shops, a private office was sealed and 20 individuals present in public places without facemask were arrested on charged of violation of lockdown / Corona SOPs across the district. A total fine of Rs126,500 was imposed on the violators.

In 50 days, 1517 shopping malls and plazas, restaurants, marriage halls, private schools and office was sealed and a total fine of Rs 2.4 million was imposed.

According to the details, during checking, apart from closing 1041shopping malls and plazas, 314 restaurants,44 marriage halls, 113 private schools, a private office, four grocery shops and 79 passenger vehicles on violation, action has also been taken against 211 persons who roamed the highways and public places without face masks.
