The former and pioneer Vice Chancellor of the University of Okara (UO) and incumbent VC of the University ofPoonchRawalakot (UPR), Prof Dr Muhammad ZakriaZakar, in his special message on the eve of the admissions fall 2023, regarded the UPR as a professional and peaceful university with exotic scenic beauty, conducive environment and skill-based education. DrZakar told, “The UPR is one of the best institutions in Pakistan.
Duly recognized by the world ranking bodies like QS, the university is offering market oriented professional degrees in various disciplines such as Pharmacy, DVM, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Law and social and basic sciences. DrZakar, who is known as institution builder has been striving to make the UPR as one of the top universities in Pakistan, further argued, “The University attracts best scientists and scholars and has vibrant academic environment.
There have never been any incident of violence or religious conflict in the university.” The VC vowed to make the UPR a center of excellence with strong intellectual pluralism, gender equality, academic freedom and intellectual liberalism.
