Vice Chancellor Liaquat University Medical and Health Sciences (LUMHS) Jamshoro Prof. Ikramuddin Ujan has said that neurosurgery ward 2, which was developed at a cost of Rs 22 million, has 20 beds and 12 beds for the convenience of trauma and neurosurgery patients. There is a CU ward, and due to a shortage of ICU beds, patients were suffering a lot. ICU beds will be provided in Civil Hospital wherever required.
He expressed these views while addressing the inauguration ceremony of the Department of Neurosurgery Unit 2 in Civil Hospital Hyderabad. Speaking on the occasion, Medical Superintendent Dr. Shahid Islam Junejo said that the cases of neurosurgery were increasing day by day, keeping in mind that Vice Chancellor LUMHS took a stand and added a new ward in the neurosurgery building in a short span of five months, which has been formally inaugurated and this ward has also started its work. He said that earlier the neuro-surgery unit was in the orthopedic building where due to lack of space for the patients, a new scheme was sent to the government for the establishment of a new building.
He said that now an ICU consisting of 6 beds has been made in the emergency department, while an ICU consisting of 6 beds has been made in the labor ward. Junejo said that we have to make a complete scheme of Neurology for which the ADP scheme has also been made and the cooperation of Vice Chancellor LUMHS Ikramuddin Ujan is with us for the improvement of the hospital.
