Surendar Valasai, PPP MPA from Tharparker has accused Federal government of criminal negligence by delaying the provision of required pesticides to fight swarming locust attacks in different parts of the desert following a productive rainfall. “Monsoon rains turned Thar into lush green oasis with ample domestic resources for both humans and animals to survive for the whole year. However, the attacks of locusts have posed severe threats to the grown fodder and crops,” he stated in a statement. Surendar Valasai pointed out that Sindh government as well as the district administration has written several letters to the Federal government’s Plant Protection Department for provision of the required pesticides to control hopper bands.
