District and Session Court has acquitted notorious Lyari gang leader UzairBaloch in a case linked to a police encounter. The case, filed at Steel Town police station, also involved another figure known as Ghaffar aka Mama. The prosecution’s case alleged a firefight between the police and the accused, which led to the deaths of several individuals, including the notorious dacoit, Rahman. UzairBaloch and others reportedly escaped from the scene. UzairBaloch, arrested in January 2021 as the primary suspect, was found not guilty due to insufficient evidence and inconsistencies in the prosecution’s witness statements.
