United States Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent has said a breakthrough on reopening the Strait of Hormuz could be achieved as early as Tuesday or Wednesday.
Speaking in an interview, he said that talks were underway with Iran and a deal could be finalised within a day or two.
Meanwhile, Qatar’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson Majed Al Ansari said diplomatic efforts to resolve the US-Iran dispute remain active.
He noted that mediators, including Qatar, Pakistan and Oman, are working in close coordination to facilitate negotiations and exchange draft proposals between the two sides.
