Minister for Local Government and Community Development Department Kamran Khan Bangash visited The Urban Unit for briefing on like-minded projects that LGCD KPK and the Urban Unit could undertake in collaboration. Urban Unit Chief Operating Officer Abid Hussainy briefed the minister on key projects of Punjab that need to be replicated in other provinces for sustainable and rapid urban development.
The team especially presented on data-based projects that the Urban Unit has been implanting successfully over the years.
He was also shown various sector of the head office of the urban unit and observed dashboards and virtual system developed by the experts.
Special briefing was arranged on the projects of The Urban Unit that it has completed in KPK over the years like business survey of WSSP Peshawar and Mardan cities, parking plaza and pedestrian bridge, waste Characterization studies in Abbottabad, Nathiagali and Swat health facilities mapping in Haripur.
“E-governance forced projects will be initiated with KPK government as The Urban Unit has full capacity to guide the suster departments in KP too.” said Abid Hussainy. The minister expressed interest in system of urban immovable property tax and asset management.–PR
