WASHINGTON – The White House has officially confirmed that United States Vice President JD Vance will not be traveling to Pakistan today for scheduled negotiations.
This development follows reports from UD media indicating that the high-level visit was deferred due to a lack of response from the Iranian government.
Reports stated that while the trip is currently on hold, Vice President Vance’s visit could be rescheduled at any time, depending on the progress of the diplomatic climate. The Vice President was expected to play a central role in discussions aimed at de-escalating regional tensions.
Simultaneously, Tehran has signaled caution regarding the proposed talks in Islamabad. Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson told an Iranian news channel that no decision has been made yet regarding the dispatch of a delegation to Pakistan for negotiations with the United States.
He emphasized that Iran’s participation remains conditional on the potential effectiveness of the dialogue. “Iran will make a decision regarding participation whenever the negotiations are deemed likely to be fruitful,” the spokesperson stated.
