Following the death of a security guard in collision with train, the University ofOkara Employees Association (UOEA) is demanding the immediate construction of a railway crossing at the Grand Trunk (GT) Road side gate. Yesterday, a 52-year security guard named as Muhammad Zakar lost his life when the high speed Jaffar Express hit him while he was crossing the railway track facing the university gate.
Following this fateful incident, the UOEA Chairman, Dr Rashid Maqbool, President, Sadiq Amin and General Secretary, DrRanaJaved along with other office bearers strongly appealed to the government to construct a railway crossing so that such accidents could be prevented in future.
While talking to the members of the association, DrJaved said, “The lives of the more 400 staff members and 20000 students are at stake as they daily cross the railway lines to enter the university.
