UO, Services Sports Control Board agree to collaborate for sports events

The Vice Chancellor University of Okara Prof Dr Muhammad Wajid called on the President Services Sports Control Board Rear Admiral Abdul Basit Butt HI (M) at Rawalpindi and discussed the modalities of collaboration between the university and Services Sports. Both the heads agreed to cooperate in coaching, officiating and conducting different sports events in future. The In-Charge UO’s Department of Statistics Dr Maqsood Ahmed was also present at the occasion.

Abdul Basit emphasized on practical-oriented research work in the university to promote sports in Pakistan.

The VC showed interest to support research based studies in services for promotion of this important facet of life.

Secretary Services Sports Lt. Col. Shabbir was also present during meeting and discussed the modes of collaboration to benefit the services from the expertise of the UO’s research in future.

Prof Wajid visited Joint Staff Public school & College and met with Principal Brig (R) Dr Afzal Salimi. Both heads argued that education and society were inter-dependent because both could mutually influence each other.

They agreed to promote the skill based education and application of Islamic principles to bring positive change in society.
